Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity offers two different opportunities under our home repair program: Home Preservation Projects, and DRCOG Chores Projects. Read more about these programs below and see whether you qualify.

Before getting started, please ensure your home falls within the service area of Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity. This includes the mountain areas of western Jefferson County, Clear Creek County and parts of Park County up to Kenosha Pass.

Repairs Services Offered

The following are examples of repairs services that we provide via our two repairs programs:

Maintenance

Including work such as painting, gutter cleaning, weather stripping, and board replacement on porches, steps, and ramps
Basic Landscaping

Including pruning, trimming, and weeding
Fire Prevention

Including yard cleanup, removal of brush and junk
Aging in Place

Including installing ramps, railings, and handles to increase at-home accessibility for elderly homeowners

DRCOG Chores Projects

To become a Habitat partner through the DRCOG Chores program, you must:

Be 60+ years of age

Home Preservation Projects

To become a Habitat partner through the Home Preservation program, you must:

Pay the program fee

A Home Preservation project fee has a flat $250 program cost prior to the start of the project.
Contribute "sweat equity" to improve your or your neighbor's home

Each partner family must complete 8 total sweat equity hours. If unable to be on a project site, alternatives may be found.
Have an income below the limits outlined in the chart below

These guidelines are based off of pre-tax income and includes wages, Social Security, disability, SSI, TANF, and child support. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you're not sure whether you qualify.

Income Guidelines

The following income guidelines are only used in the approval process for the Home Preservation Projects. The DRCOG Chores Projects do not have any income guidelines for approval into the program.
